FAQS

  • You can upload any dataset that includes a location such as an address or geographic coordinate. Popular data points include bid locations, competitor locations, rejected sites, and portfolio sites—just to name a few. As long as it can be connected to a place, we can upload data from any of the following file types:

    • CSV

    • Zipped Shapefile

    • GeoJSON

  • Ratio.City uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) to provide all data storage and compute capacity for our platform. Currently, all of Ratio.City’s AWS resources are hosted in the Canada-Central Region, the physical infrastructure of which is located in Montreal.

  • Any data you upload to Ratio.City will be securely hosted on your account for exclusive use within your organization. Ratio.City also has a small team of data administrators who can upload, clean, structure, and maintain custom data on behalf of our clients. These activities are purely administrative to ensure compatibility between your custom data and the platform.

    Data can be easily removed by deleting the dataset in your account or contacting our Customer Success team for support.

  • Our Data Styling feature is a great way to help your data layer stand out in Explore and Locate Modes. Once the data has been imported, you can apply your own brand colours, increase transparency, or create bolder outlines to highlight important information.
